Overview

Recovery Kit needed more than a website — they needed a platform that could handle the full complexity of their hire-based business model. Machines go out, come back, get serviced, go out again. Customers extend hires, change dates, need invoices. There are tasks to track, emails to send, machines to monitor.

I designed and built the entire thing from scratch — the public-facing e-commerce site, the admin dashboard behind it, and the automation that ties the two together. I continue to develop and improve the platform as the business grows.

What I built

E-commerce & checkout

  • Product pages with size guides and hire flow
  • Stripe integration: one-off, hire, and subscription
  • Automated booking hold system (30-min expiry)
  • Machine auto-assignment based on availability

Admin dashboard

  • Visual booking calendar with machine rows
  • 15-step automated task workflow engine
  • Invoice creation, PDF generation, and emailing
  • Fleet management with utilisation tracking

Analytics & reporting

  • Monthly revenue charts and capacity forecasting
  • Machine-level MRR and utilisation metrics
  • Referral source tracking and attribution
  • Wrap popularity analysis by type and size

Operations & automation

  • Task auto-generation from booking lifecycle
  • Email templates for each stage of hire
  • Extension management (up to 3 per booking)
  • Testimonial curation and public display
